The Bean TreesBy Barbara KingsolverCategory: FictionThe pain of sacrifice but the beauty we gain. It's ironic how in the beginning of our lives we have a list of all the things we would "never" do, but rarely do we stop and think of the blessings and wonders that may unfold if we just let things be. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and it reminded me of the family I too have created along a journey I "never" thought I would be on. ~ Reviewed by Donna P. on 07/20/2011 |

Gone Too FarBy Suzanne BrockmannCategory: MysteryI love all of Suzanne's books, but this has got to be my favorite! I love the main characters, Sam and Alyessa. They are an interracial couple who have been featured in several books, but this one is theirs! Full of drama, suspense, and romance. You must read The Defiant Hero and Out of Control before this so that you can watch their relationship grow! Enjoy! ~ Reviewed by Meresha C. on 06/21/2011 |

When the Thrill is GoneBy Walter MosleyCategory: MysteryMr. Moseley does it again. I always learn something historical from his books and also some new words. This book does not disappoint. It had the usual mystery and of course, I never guessed who did what until it was revealed at the end. Leonid McGill is one of my favorite characters. Keep up the good work, Mr. Moseley. ~ Reviewed by Deanne M. on 05/28/2011 |

Getting to HappyBy Terry McMillanCategory: FictionTerry McMillan is back with her original cast from Waiting to Exhale. Though it took me a while to remember the ladies, their stories spoke volumes. As usual, I found something in each of the characters that reminded me of something I need to do or had been thinking of doing. I hope she continues the series. I'm wondering what happens next for them. ~ Reviewed by Deanne M. on 05/28/2011 |

Antiques to Die ForBy Jane ClelandCategory: MysteryThis is the third book in the Josie Prescott series, but it's the first one I've read. It was a lot of fun and now I will check out and read the rest of them! It's a typical "cozy" style mystery, better written than a lot of them, and set around an antiques shop in New Hampshire. In this one, Josie has to hunt down a hidden antique belonging to a murdered woman without knowing what the antique is, if it's the reason why she was murdered, or who is after it. ~ Reviewed on 12/29/2010 |
