Humorist Dave Barry takes a nostalgic and often hilarious look at Christmas, family and growing up in the early 1960s. Christmas isn’t going too well for pre-teen Doug Barnes, and gets worse when the family pet dies. Enter Walter, a rambunctious pooch who, by serendipity or other unknown power, turns Christmas around for Doug, his family and the entire community. A short, light read filled with good humor and laugh out loud moments.
