10:00 AM-10:45 AM Family Storytime for Toddlers

Toddlers, ages 21-36 months will enjoy interactive stories, songs, action verse and an extended activity. Advance registration is required but it is necessary to register ONLY ONE TIME for the entire series. You may register for a series any time, in person, by email, or by telephone. Parents must remain in the story time with their children.

PLEASE NOTE: This story time series is for families only and we regret that we can not permit child care groups to attend this story time series. However, the library does schedule story times on other weekdays specifically for both in-home and center child care groups. Please ask staff for scheduling details.
11:00 AM-11:45 AM Family Storytime for Preschoolers

3:30 PM-5:30 PM Leaders of Tomorrow (L.O.T.) Tutoring/Mentoring Program Series

Free tutoring series for elementary, middle, and high school students. Offered by the volunteers from the B.A.S.I.C. Empowerment Corporation, a non-profit organization. This organization strives to meet the academic needs of the students in our community. There will be tutoring, homework assistance, and academic enrichment exercises. Registration is for the whole series and is based on a first-come, first-serve basis. A parent MUST complete a parental permission form and a registration form either prior to participation or on the first day of participation.

This series is planned to last at least through the 2009 --2010 school year.

Only 20 students may participate and once that many have registered, a waiting list will be taken.

The Clayton County Library System is providing space for this program as a public service. All questions about this series must be communicated directly to B.A.S.I.C. Empowerment Corporation via email or by phone.
New Generation Academy Math Tutoring Series

Tutors from New Generation Academy will offer free Math tutoring sessions for all grade levels beginning on Tuesday, January 5th 2010. These sessions will be offered every Tuesday thereafter for the remainder of the school year. A parent MUST complete the registration form which may be picked up in advance.
10:00 AM Free Crochet Club

Learn how to crochet with Cookie Blakenship, or just come and share crochet interests with the group. For beginners,please bring 4 ply yarn and a "G" size crochet hook to the class. Experienced folks bring whatever you are working on. All skill levels are welcome. To register call: 770-473-3850.

3:30 PM-8:30 PM Scholastic Half-Off Book Fair

Book fair will probably open at 3:30 p.m. We might be able to open earlier; please call in advance to check on the opening time. Everything is HALF OFF the original price.

Replenish classroom shelves. Lots of affordable holiday gifts! Books and more for infants through adults.

Come early. Reorders are limited to additional copies, IF AVAILABLE, of books sent with the opening day book fair.

Based on a percentage of sales, the library earns paperback books to use as rewards for each child or teen who reads 18 books during the 2010 Summer Reading Program.

We accept checks, cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover cards, Debit cards with charge card logos (all purchases go through as charges), and purchase orders.

Make a handmade Valentine's Card for your friends or loved ones. For ages 13-18
Chess Club

This club meets at the library weekly and is for kids, ages 8-14. Learn to play chess or learn new strategies. This is a great way to meet others and improve your game. All abilities are welcome to come. There is no advance registration, but be prompt as we begin at 6:00.
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM Craft Time: Hearts & Lanterns

Come make simple and fun crafts that celebrate the February holidays of Valentine’s Day and Chinese New Year.
