9:30 AM - 8:30 PM Scholastic Half-Off Book Fair
Everything is HALF OFF the original price.
Replenish classroom shelves. Lots of affordable holiday gifts! Books and more for infants through adults.
Come early. Reorders are limited to additional copies, IF AVAILABLE, of books sent with the opening day book fair.
Based on a percentage of sales, the library earns paperback books to use as rewards for each child or teen who reads 18 books during the 2010 Summer Reading Program.
We accept checks, cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover cards, Debit cards with charge card logos (all purchases go through as charges), and purchase orders.

3:30 PM-5:30 PM Leaders of Tomorrow (L.O.T.) Tutoring/Mentoring Program Series
Free tutoring series for elementary, middle, and high school students. Offered by the volunteers from the B.A.S.I.C. Empowerment Corporation, a non-profit organization. This organization strives to meet the academic needs of the students in our community. There will be tutoring, homework assistance, and academic enrichment exercises. Registration is for the whole series and is based on a first-come, first-serve basis. A parent MUST complete a parental permission form and a registration form either prior to participation or on the first day of participation.
This series is planned to last at least through the 2009 --2010 school year.
Only 20 students may participate and once that many have registered, a waiting list will be taken.
The Clayton County Library System is providing space for this program as a public service. All questions about this series must be communicated directly to B.A.S.I.C. Empowerment Corporation via email or by phone.
7:00 PM-7:30 PM Pajama Rama: Evening Family Story Time
Come have fun with us while we explore new stories each week. You may wear your pajamas, bring a blanket or stuffed animal. Pajamas are optional.
No registration required.

10:30 AM - 11:30 AM Preschool Story Time's African American Read-In
We would like to celebrate the Twenty-First National African American Read-In by conducting our own read-in during our preschool story time. We will be presenting books that feature African American writers. Other activities will include songs, finger plays, and movement. For more information and to register your child please call the library at 770-472-8129. Recommended for ages 3-6 years.
Groups are welcome but must register in advance.
The Read-In has been endorsed and sponsored by the International Reading Association, the National Council of Teachers of English, The Black Caucus of NCTE and the NCTE.
