Mergent Online
Mergent Online is a popular business resource for investors. The Clayton County Library System's subscription covers US publicly traded companies.
Important : You must have a PINES Library Card with the Clayton County Library System listed as your home library to use this database. Please contact any of our Branch libraries to obtain the password.
There are several separate modules included in Mergent indicated by the green tabs across the top. The options available to you will depend on which part of the site you are currently navigating through.
- US Company Data
This includes company histories, property holdings, long-term debt, bond ratings, capital stock, income statement, balance sheet, statements of cash flow, stock price ranges, stock splits, dividend payment history, subsidiaries and executives. - U.S. Equity Pricing
Allows you to generate up to date research quality charts that track stock performance (daily, weekly, or monthly) of companies and compare them against competitors. This feature includes 20 years worth of data for approximately 15,000 companies. - Industry Reports - In-depth analysis of 22 North American industries issued every 6 months. Reports describe the market environment and industry landscape, key trends and market outlook.
- Equity Research Reports - 2 page pdf format company research reports that include buy, hold and sell recommendations for companies and their competitors, price momentum ratings and charts, earnings summaries, forecasting, performance charts, and company news.

Also included in the database are all EDGAR filings for included companies since 1993. Filings are available for download as pdf, Word or Excel files.
The advanced search screen is searchable by specific criteria. For instance, you could search for companies with the SIC code 4512 that have revenues in excess of 15 million and a closing stock price equal to or greater than $7.00 a share. Sound complicated?
