Upcoming Programs At the Library

Sat, 4 Sep 2010 13:00 -0400 All Ages Cuentos y Libros/Stories & Books Each Saturday, stories will be read in both English and in Spanish. Talented bilingual volunteers will read stories in Spanish and library staff will read in English. The program will end with a craft. For the whole family. Participarán estudiantes talentosas, que leerán en ambos idiomas (español e inglés). Después de la activad de lectura, los participantes harán una actividad manual. Estas actividades son gratis para toda la familia. Esta es una gran oportunidad de aprender inglés para unos y español para otros. Pueden participar desde los niños hasta los abuelos de su familia.

Advance registration is required but it is necessary to register ONLY ONE TIME for the entire series. You may register for a series any time, in person, by email, or by telephone. Parents must remain in the story time with their children. This series will run through October 19th. PLEASE NOTE: This story time series is for families only and we regret that we can not permit child care groups to attend this story time series. However, the library does schedule story times on other weekdays specifically for both in-home and center child care groups. Please ask staff for scheduling details.

Wed, 8 Sep 2010 10:30 -0400 Kids, Parents and Caregivers Preschool Story Time Preschool story time will be offered every Wednesday for 3-6 year olds. Activities will include stories, songs, finger plays, movement, crafts, and movies. For more information and to register your child please call the library at 770-472-8129. Groups are welcome but must register in advance.

Wed, 8 Sep 2010 16:00 -0400 Teens FREE Reading Tutoring for Gr. 6-12 Make this your best school year ever! Get the help you need. Free tutoring available for reading for grades 6 - 12. Tutoring is both group and individualized instruction with experienced tutors. We will cover the major problem areas that students encounter in reading to aid them in passing their class exams and prepare for standardized tests. Call New Generation Academy at 678 429-4204 to register. Due to space limitations, each session will be limited to 15 students. The Clayton County Library system is providing space for this tutoring as a community service. All tutoring is conducted by New Generation Academy and all questions should be directed to them. These sessions will be ongoing on Mondays throughout the school year but will NOT meet any day that Clayton County Public Schools are not in session.
