Frequently Asked Questions

Question:

Do you offer computer classes?

Answer:

We offer beginning-level computer classes at our Forest Park Branch Library on a monthly basis and periodically at some of our other library branches. Please check the online calendar or the monthly newsletter for current offerings. Most classes require pre-registration because of the limited number of computers we have available for classes at any given time. To sign up for the classes at the Forest Park Branch Library, please stop in or call 770-347-0160. All classes are free.

If you already know the basics, but want to improve your skills in specific programs, we have free, online, self-paced computer classes available through Job & Career Accelerator.  These classes include Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Publisher, SharePoint, Visio, and Word), Corel WordPerfect, and Adobe products (Flash, Illustrator, and Photoshop):

  1. Go to our home page at www.claytonpl.org
  2. Click on the Job & Career Accelerator link (on the right-hand side of the page in the Online Services section).
  3. Click on the New User Registration link to set up your name and password the first time you use it.
  4. Log in with your Job & Career Accelerator name and password.
  5. Click on the Learn a Computer Program link.
  6. Choose the name of the course you wish to take.

Please note - these online courses may not work over the library's wireless Internet as they are bandwidth intensive. They will work from the library's public computers or from home computers.
