| Make a Splash... Read! |
|
We have many special programs in June to kick off the Summer Reading Programs! Please take a moment to browse our Online Calendar of Events!
Readers of all ages may come into any Clayton County public library to register to participate in the summer reading program. There are three programs: "Make a Splash . . . Read!" for infants through age 11; "Make Waves at Your Library" for ages 12-18 years, and "Water your Mind - - - Read!" for adults.
Participate in these FREE programs encouraging young people, ages infant to 18 years, to read and listen to books for fun. Pick up a reading log at any of the six Clayton County Public Library branches to keep track of your reading. Visit the library weekly to select a fun weekly incentive. Reading may be done anywhere: home, school, vacation, etc. Each youth who reads, or listens to, 18 books, or who reads for 9 hours, may select a free paperback book to keep. All programs, materials, and incentives are FREE! Pre-readers, as well as older children, may participate by having books read aloud to them. All participants are requested to read books appropriate to their reading level. The Vacation Reading Program is NOT a summer camp/child care program. Please call to register to attend individual summer events. Pick up a monthly events calendar at any of the libraries or visit our web site at www.claytonpl.org Group leaders may register the youth in their programs to participate, and to earn a free book each, by contacting Janice Arcuria, 770-210-5238; fax: 770-473-3858, or email: arcuriaj@claytonpl.org. Groups may register to attend specific library programs, but MUST register in advance and some restrictions apply.
