Parents: Note our continuing series:
365 Ways to Keep your Child Safe from the Keenan Kids Foundation.

Parents are a child's first and most important teacher, and our libraries offer a wealth of resources to support parents in this role. Our excellent selection of parenting titles cover the physical, social, and mental aspects of a child's life from birth through the teenage years.

The libraries also offers board books, concept books, and picture books such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See? to share with very young children.  To assist children in learning how to read, our libraries offer many wonderful picture books for parents to read aloud, books on tape for children and books designed especially for beginning readers.

Parents of school aged children will find books to assist with and support homework assignments, including science fair projects, dictionaries of Native American tribes, rock and leaf identification guides and much, much more. Check our online catalog for specific subjects. Access to the internet is also available at all library locations. This includes access to subscription databases paid for by the Library System designed specifically to support all age groups. Library staff are happy to assist parents and children in finding the information they need.

Please see our Library Policies statement for information about youth internet access and library cards. Parents may also wish to review our tips on keeping your child safe on the internet.
