Introduction
Recent campaigns to name seven new wonders of the world has brought attention to the numerous listings of seven “wonders” of natural, engineering, ancient and contemporary monuments. The list that is best known today is the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The list was compiled during the Middle Ages. It includes:

The Great Pyramid of Giza
The Hanging Gardens of Babylon
The Statue of Zeus at Olympia
The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus
The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus
The Colossus of Rhodes
and The Lighthouse of Alexandria.

This guide provides resources for the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, which will be referred to here collectively as “the canon” or “the monuments,” and individually by name or as “the monument.”
