There are many good software programs available to help protect your computer from viruses and spyware. Norton Antivirus (from Symantec) and McAfee Antivirus are both very popular commercially available programs. One popular antivirus program available for free for personal/home use is AVG. You should only have one of these (McAfee, Norton, AVG, etc.) major antivirus programs installed on your computer at the same time, as they can conflict with each other.
The programs listed below are other small programs that you can run in addition to one of the above-listed programs.

A good place to find intermediate or advanced computer classes is the Continuing Education department of your closest college or technical school. Many of these institutions offer computer classes to the public during the evenings or on weekends. The fees and registration process vary from institution to institution. Some community centers, senior centers, workforce training organizations, churches, and public schools offer occasional beginning-level computer classes for adults as well.
Beginning Computer Classes at the Library
The library offers introductory-intermediate level computer classes each month at the Forest Park branch. The classes cover computer basics (using the mouse and keyboard, saving and organizing files, using the web, using email) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher). Class sizes are limited and registration is required. Call 770-473-3850 on the first day of the month to register for the following month's class. Other branches occasionally offer computer classes as well - please refer to the library's calendar.
