Literacy Education
The Clayton County Public Library System supports adult literacy education efforts by providing teaching resources, computers, and information and referral services.

The Library provides test preparation materials specifically for, but not limited to, the GED and ASVAB Exams. Additionally, the Clayton County Library System subscribes to the LearningExpress Library which offers free test preparation material on a wide range of subjects, including Reading and Writing Skills Improvement.

GED (http://www.dtae.org/adultlit/ged.html) - Georgia Department of Technical & Adult Education The General Education Development Exam (GED) provides students who have not received a diploma from an accredited high school with an opportunity to earn a high school equivalency diploma. The Exam, made up of five parts, covers the following subjects: writing skills, social studies, science, interpreting literature and arts, and mathematics. The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (http://www.asvabprogram.com/) - A group of eight (8) sub tests that measure the test taker's aptitude for various careers. Only four (4) of the eight sub tests count toward your Armed Forces Qualifying Test (AFQT) score. The AFQT score determines whether or not you can enlist in the Armed Forces. Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators (http://www.gace.nesinc.com/)- Georgia Educators are now required to take the GACE to become certified. Check out this link to get Registration info, Preparation Materials, etc.
