PC Reservation Changes

Expanded Computer Sessions Now in Effect

In response to popular demand, the length of sessions available for the libraries' public access computers expanded on Monday, August 13th, 2007. As of now, PC reservation lengths are as follows::

Express Sessions will last 20 minutes
Standard Sessions will last 60 minutes

The library computers are heavily used and many computers users have requested longer session in order to complete their work. By making longer sessions available the library hopes to meet that need.

To offset the impact of longer sessions on overall computer availability, a daily, county-wide limit on the length of time any individual can use library computers also became effective on August 13th.

Individuals are now allocated 120 minutes of county–wide access on a daily basis. The cumulative 120 minute total can be made up of any combination of 20 minute and 60 minute sessions.

Important Note: Computer session reservations are made on an individual basis. Using other people’s library card numbers—even cards belonging to family members—is prohibited. Use of another person’s card number can result in loss of computer privileges.
